An Amusing Valentine's Day Story

In honor of a neanderthal asswipe who thinks Valentine’s Day should be abolished, I am dedicating this post to that day men and women (and men and men, and women and women) declare their love for each other just like they should do every other day. I won’t name the guy, but he’s a men’s rights activist who thinks the day promotes unequality of the sexes. He really thinks Valentine's Day is all about corraling men into obliging what he calls “sextortion” and female entitlement. He also thinks it’s an annual media male-bashing fest. He demands everyone call it “Nomance Day” and he expects “real men” to boycott it.

I swear I’m not making this up. I won't post his picture here. He looks like an escaped mental patient. He has also written other rants that make his Valentine's Day bellowing look calm, reasonable, and cohesive by comparison.

He claims to have a girlfriend. Uh-huh. I guess he unties her and let's her eat three times per day as long as she behaves. I suppose as long as she knows her place, she'll be fine.

He conveniently forgets that Valentine’s Day is a holiday to tend to your partner whether you’re male or female. And that includes buying gifts. I've found some very funny and unusual gifts for Valentine's Day.

How much of a geek are you? Want to dress as the fourth Doctor from Doctor Who? Check this out!

You can also buy costumes to dress as the fifth Doctor, Tegan, and Leela. Act out your classic "Doctor Who" fantasies on Valentine's Day! If you're like me and you've had it bad for David Tennant, all you need to wear is a dark pinstriped suit and red sneakers. No problem there.

If that's not over-the-top enough for you, how about candy lingerie? At Amazon, you may buy an edible women's g-string and bra set.

Don't forget the X-rated candy hearts with smutty sayings on them like "eat me", "blow me", and more!

I like Valentine's Day, but I'm happily married and I have someone with whom to share it. Not everyone is so lucky. All throughout high school and college, I had no one and I hated Valentine's Day because it only reminded me how lonely I really was. Now, I feel much better about it.

I'm looking forward to March 14 much more than February 14. For one thing, March 14 is my birthday. For another thing, March 14 is Steak and BJ Day. More on that holiday next month.

And then there's April 14... the fun holidays just don't stop.

Here's my latest book, a sexy romp about a plane flight and the ensuing writer's convention.

Elizabeth Black continues her ribald Indiscretions series with Indiscretions: Vol. II. These two short stories follow the amorous adventures of Caryn as she wings her way across country to a writer’s convention. In THE MILE HIGH CLUB, Caryn has a high altitude fling with the sexy Jeremy. Their encounter isn’t without comic complications, but a very good time is had by all. The action continues in ROOM SERVICE, when Caryn and Jeremy meet a mutual friend and the sexual action is three-times hotter!

Excerpt from The Mile High Club:

They retreated to the restroom and locked the door behind them. If the airline staff noticed they turned the other way. Caryn wondered how many other people had used the restroom in their own version of The Mile High Club?

She was glad she wore a miniskirt with stockings and sexy panties. She had hoped she'd have a hot tryst at 35,000 feet and it looked like she was about to continue her arousing flight. Although she wished she had more than twenty minutes, she decided to take full advantage of her position.

Jeremy hoisted her up against the sink and pushed her until she backed up against the mirror. His pants were unzipped and down to his knees in seconds. She wrapped her strong legs around his waist, shoved her panties aside, and guided in his thick erection. He was so big he threatened to split her in two so she held her legs until her knees were near her chest to completely accommodate him. He grunted as he thrust into her, hips moving in a steady beat as his thighs slapped against her own. He pounded into her so hard her body moved up the mirror approaching the ceiling. With each thrust her heart beat hard in her chest, wanting to be set free. She pulled up his shirt, wanting to feel his warm flesh, and scratched at his back with her long, manicured nails, leaving welts that made him cry out in exquisite pain. She wanted him so badly she would do anything to fuck him senseless.

Excerpt from Room Service:

"Oooh, I like that," Jeremy said. "We'll do everything else, but no intercourse."

"What about the rabbit?" Caryn asked.

"Sex toys don't count. No cock will enter your pussy today, but we will give you the most insane orgasms you've ever experienced!" Takeshi's promise was so intense his breath came in spurts.

"I think I can get into this. I want to pleasure you two, as well. Don't leave me out of the equation." Caryn stroked their bare backs with her hands, running her fingernails along their skin, bringing forth the most delightful shivers from both men.

Takeshi took her right breast into his mouth and sucked hard on her nipple. She felt him fist his cock and stroke it slowly, and he moaned against her chest. Jeremy shifted in the bed until his groin faced her and she took his cock into her mouth. He tasted of pre-cum and a little strawberry lube. Takeshi worked her tits with one hand while beating off with his other and she felt his body jostle on the bed next to her. He even grew warmer! She looked down to see Jeremy slip a condom over her butt plug and dribble some lube on it. In seconds he eased it into Takeshi's waiting asshole. The man moaned with delight and squirmed atop her. Oh, to feel Jeremy's finger up her ass again!

At the risk of being lynched, I have to say he has a point - romance should be spontaneous and constant, not corraled into a particular day or tradition. And gifts? Seriously? That's a ploy by the retailers to stir up some high end sales, like diamonds and the like. Love is not about things, it's about feelings - about doing and sharing, not buying. The candy, although good, is ridiculous expensive - if you really want it, wait til the day after when it goes on sale.

I don't celebrate Valentine's Day - I see no need to. Love is there to share 365 days a year.

As for the Doctor Who stuff - I've made both of the Fourth Doctor's scarves - my daughter owns them. She also has awesome costumes for the Sixth and Seventh Doctors. The only Who costume I have is Donna Noble's wedding dress, so that I can play the Runaway Bride. We cosplay at conventions, though, not at home lol

Nah, I certainly won't lynch you. I know people have mixed feelings about Valentine's Day. I see it as yet another day to express your feelings for someone you love. I just thought this guy was way over the top.

I also found an article about really bad Valentine's Day gifts that were quite funny. One was a matching set of cemetery monuments. Yee hah!

I'd love to dress as a Weeping Angel the next time I go to a convention, but I wouldn't be able to move as long as people were looking at me. :)

You could make a case for that person that they wanted their love to last through eternity? :)

I've never seen a Weeping Angel - is that from a particular fandom? Do you have a pic? What conventions do you go to? We have two excellent ones here in St. Louis - KawaKon and BishieCon. KawaKon is coming up in March, 11-13, and we're showing the Rocky Horror Picture Show Saturday night - it is so gonna rock! After V Day, I should be able to buy red wax lips on sale lol

The Weeping Angel is a newer Doctor Who creature. It's in the episode "Blink", with David Tennant playing The Doctor. I've never seen anyone dress as one myself but I've been to only one convention since that episode came out a few years ago.

Huh, KawaKon is the weekend before my birthday. I go to Arisia in Boston most often as a guest speaker. I'll likely be speaking at more conventions in the coming years. The ones I'm most interested in are Balticon. Bouchercon, Frolicon, Readercon, and I-Con. My first major con was Balticon and that's where I met my husband. We LOVE "Rocky Horror", too. :)

Ah, that explains it. I am woefully behind on Doctor Who - my daughter is far ahead of me. I last watched all of the Ninth Doctor, but when I tried to netflix the Tenth, they said I had a long wait. I have seen a couple of random episodes, like Runaway Bride. My daughter loves Eleven. She is a total Who-fanatic, I just bought her a new book by Colin Baker, she'll actually get her name in it.

I'd love to get to Yaoi Con or Comic Con, or Acen, but I should probably stick to smaller cons lol.

RH is gonna rock - we're having a virgin sacrifice before the film, and we're selling loot bags. I'm making cupcakes with the lips, and my friend is making frozen chocolate covered bananas.

There will be hijinx at the Virgin Sacrifice lol

Friday night, we're showing Repo! the Genetic Opera. Good times! If you're even remotely close to St. Louis, you should come!

The Ninth Doctor is Eccleston, right? He's the first Doctor I'd seen, although I was aware of Pertwee and Baker. My husband and I started watching Eccleston and I got so into it I rented the classic episodes. My favorite classic Doctor is Jon Pertwee. He's just such a dandy! LOL Tennant is my favorite Doctor with Eccleston coming in second and Pertwee third.

I'd love to get to ComicCon! I'm nowhere near St. Louis so I doubt I'd come to a con out there. I tend to stick to New England and the Mid-Atlantic states.

The Rocky Horror event sounds like a blast. Now I'm in the mood for the movie again. LOL I saw Tim Curry play Mozart in a live production of "Amadeus" but he was extremely upstaged by Sir Ian McKellan as Salieri. What a fantastic production!

Enjoy the con!

Yes, Eccleston is the Ninth Doctor. I was surprised to see him in Heroes, as the Invisible Man - I never recognized him. Haha, didn't mean that like it sounded. I started watching years ago, maybe even in the late 70's, when they started showing the Fourth Doctor - I fell in love with Tom Baker. I named my daughter Sarah, after Sarah Jane Smith - who knew she'd grow up to be an even bigger fan than me?

I can understand that - I stick to the Midwest for now, til fame and fortune frees me for more travel :)

Wow, that sounds so awesome, I envy you! I wanted to go out to LA to see David Thewlis live a couple of years ago, but alas finances did not permit. Someday, though!

I will - the staff always has as much fun as the con-goers, I think! We work hard but we play hard too when we can!

I always love your blog posts! I want some of that heart spicy candy too. I like any day that celebrates anything so count me in for VDay and every other day as well.

Elizabeth Black said...

Julie, cool you named your daughter after Sarah Jane Smith. My husband named his son after Captain Kirk on "Star Trek". His son might forgive him someday. :)

Have fun at the con!

Elizabeth Black said...

Thanks, Kissa! I asked my husband to buy a bag of those regular candy hearts because I love them, as long as they're Necco hearts. I heard Necco changed its formula a few years back, and the hearts didn't have that delicious chalk taste I love so much. I hope this year they're just as chalky as I remember.

I don't fall for the commercialism of Valentine's Day - and yes it sure is commercial! - but it's just a day for us to express our love for each other like every other day. We'll also stock up on chocolates and candy hearts (I love those things!) the day after VD when they're 75% off. :) We go through LOTS of chocolate after VD!

Husband and I have been watching Dr. Who for 30 years. We own all of the recent seasons, and our oldest son owns all of the seasons of the spin-off, Torchwood. Daughter loves David Tennant and Capt. Jack, in that order. All of our 4 kids are Dr. Who and other sci-fi fanatics. They had no choice! ;-D
I will probably be working 2 jobs on V-day. We say "I love you" at least once a day, and before going to sleep. That being said, husband is more "romantic" than me and will probably give me flowers. I've sent him some at work also...he's a sweetie. But every day is a good day to tell ones you love that you do. Not just when it's good for retail businesses.

I LOVE Valentine's Day. It's not about gifts...it's about taking the time out of the other hectic 364 days to slow down and say: "Hey...I love you. Just for today, let's make it about us." I think it's sweet. People who bash V-day often hate X-mas, B-days, and any other holiday with a "dash." If you don't like Valentine's day...don't celebrate it! But don't knock other people for liking it.

Valentine after sales are among my many pleasures. I find things I can give away to readers as well. Yay for clearance prices.

I don't have a valentine this year, but that doesn't ruin my joy in the holiday. It is so sweet to watch others really consider and try to find the perfect gift.

I saw a little boy yesterday who was searching for a gift for his Mom. His Grandma was looking in the jewelry cases but the boy's eyes were caught by a rope bracelet, in the fashion jewelry, that had a silver silhouette of a tree in the center. He proclaimed it THE GIFT because his mom loved trees so much and it made him think of her.
Any holiday that brings out that kind of thoughtfulness is good with me.
