This month, I've got two upcoming Halloween releases. One, The Carpenter and the Fairy, is coming October 12 from Phaze Publishing. It's a straight contemporary (meaning that it has no paranormal elements at all, it's actually a gay story) featuring two characters who happen to meet around Halloween at a costume party. *Note: Contrary to the cover, there aren't any girls involved. Sorry, menage fans!*

My other October release, Outcasts: Claiming Ciaran (sequel to Saving Ciaran), is a paranormal novel featuring a werewolf and a half-fae/half-demon. It's coming October 23 from Cobblestone Press.
I enjoy writing both paranormal and contemporary stories for different reasons. I also like to read both. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a paranormal, and other times I want pure realism.
My question for you all is do you prefer paranormal or straight contemporary? Or, like me, do you enjoy them both? If you like paranormal, what types do you like best (vamps, weres, ghosts, gods/goddesses, psychics, etc.)?

Can I vote for a mixture of the two. I love fun, sassy chick lit style paranormal. A couple of my fav authors for that are Mary Janice Daivson - the Queen Betsy series and Tate hallaway - the Garnet Lacey series.
So much fun!

I like both too, Jenna. I read quite a few of the MJD Betsy series. They are tons of fun :)
