All of us author's look for new and creative ways to market our names and our books....We all work hard at making promo items like bookmarks, pens, postcards and other things that we can give out to readers or potential readers.
We want to stand out amongst the masses. Stick out and get noticed...
With technology and everything that is available out there we are always hunting. We want the world to know we are here and we have a book that you would want people to read.
Author's know that it is not cheap to market yourself. Everything costs and in these hard times we watch how and where we spend our hard earned cash.
Getting people's attention is not easy when the market is filled with tons of author's who try to the the exact thing that you are doing. This is why we all try to break our self apart from the crowd. We try to shout louder to the world. Here I am...Can I have your attention please....
Sometimes it works and sometimes we need to go back to the drawing board and start all over....
I want to ask you, what kind of marketing things do you like from authors?

Very good post because all authors want to get the most bang for their bucks! As a reader I seldom pay attention to ads but I'll often meet other writers on loops and decide they are so fun and cool, their books must be too. I haven't been to a lot of conventions but goody bags are fun.
As a writer, I invest in a good website but do lots of free stuff. I visit loops, do myspace, facebook, blog, etc.
I think short free stories are great and I love freebies. Covers so draw me in...

I love bookmarks and goodie bags. Anything free is always welcome. :-D Ads don't usually influence me, unless it's an author that I am already familiar with.
