His Sweet Obsession

Photobucket

That's the title of my new book, releasing next Thursday on January 15th from Whiskey Creek Torrid http://whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com. In the book, my hero has been waiting on the heroine for 15 years. Yep, that's a long time to love someone. Now my book is all about love that just takes a while to find its way, but it got me thinking about
obsession, you know what I mean, "fatal attraction" type of love.

Remember that movie with Michael Douglas and Glenn Close? That movie gave the world a whole new expression. Mention "fatal attraction" and I guarantee everyone knows what you're talking about.

I must admit that I had a bit of a "fatal attraction" once myself. Now it wasn't like that crazy woman in the movie. I didn't serve anyone rabbit stew or anything like that. But I do admit to being a bit more concerned with him than I should have been. lol Ever done a drive-by of someone's house? lol Yep, I've been there done that. Now I was in my early twenties at the time and it was all pretty harmless and love had nothing to do with it, neither did sex--he wasn't that good. lol

I also rode with a friend of mine once when she did a drive-by. You'd think I would have learned my lesson wouldn't you? Well, I was only in my mid-twenties then, so guess I can chalk that up to still not having the frontal lobe of my brain not fully developed. To make matters worse in this particular drive-by we used my car. Which, by the way, was a red Corvette convertible. Not too subtle. So we rode by the guy's house and he was sitting in his living room reading the paper and saw us through this big bay window. Yep! COLD BUSTED!

Once I was on the receiving end of a "fatal attraction". NOT NEARLY AS HARMLESS AS THE ONE I WAS INVOLVED IN. When things get out of control, it's not a lot of fun for sure.

So have any of you ever been involved in a harmless drive-by or followed a man or woman? And have you ever been on the receiving end?

In my book, His Sweet Obsession, the obsession is true love, and not at all obsessive, but just took its time finding its way. Love is never obsessive, it just happens when it's ready. I'm still waiting on my share.

Thanks Angela. I have the tendency to write very romantic or very edgy. Guess there is no middle ground with me. lol But His Sweet Obsession is a great story where obstacles are overcome and love wins! Doesn't get any better than that!

Well I had a little obsession with a boy I had a csush on when I was 12 I use to have dreams about him and I told my friends. And they told my crush that I was dreaming about him. I was so embarrassed but he was so nice about it. Those bitches. Lol

I also love the cover! Like you I've done the drive bys and done drive bys with a girl friend. I know I've been the same type of obsession for a guy before as well. One ex moved to the state I'd moved to in order to be near me. He left soon enough after I wouldn't give him the time of day. One wanna be spied on me and my guy though a key hole. The only time that it really bothered me was a roomates BF. We lived in a dorm situation and I caught him spying on me though a crack in the furniture.

I have been with my friends when they did drive-by's and done my share a few times. LOL I find it hard to believe that everybody hasn't done it at least once. Can't wait to read this story. I love the cover.
