What a Year!

I have a New Year’s Day ritual - I look over my journal for the past year, take stock of milestones, accomplishments, heartaches and changes, and set my course for the new year. Not in stone - that never works - but in dreams.

Since this is my last Midnight Seductions blog date for 2008, I’m moving the calendar up just a tad.

Could I have dreamed a year like this one? Our incredible author group - birthed in the despair of one of 2007’s many e-pub failures - is one year old this month, and we’re celebrating today with an all-out bash at the Midnight Seductions Yahoo Group that’ll run long into the night. I’ll join the party when I get home from work this evening, and we’ll announce the winner of our Endless Romance Contest at 9pm eastern. Lots of excerpts, prizes and author news, all day long, and of course, one free download from me, for readers who talk to me at the party!

“One free download” - I can’t tell you what it means to be able to write those words! At year’s end, I’m a published author of four romantic suspense novels, recipient of five-star reviews, and nominee for best suspense/ mystery romance in the 2008 NOR Awards. Feels like I’m still dreaming!

My dreams for next year? To win, of course - not likely, since Nora Roberts has a book in the same category! But even being on the same list with Nora Roberts was beyond my wildest dreams a few short years ago. I’ll focus next year’s dreams on catching readers up in my characters’ dreams and sending you on wild, suspense-filled rides that curl your toes - with a happy ending, of course!
