Radio Dentata

Hi, I’m Mary Suzanne. Today, I want to talk about the opportunity Sascha, a fellow writer on our group, is giving the Midnight Seduction Author’s. Anyone that wants to will have the chance to read excerpts on his radio station: Radio Dentata.

I’ve read some of the reactions on our MSA site about reading a post aloud. One author said she sounded like she was channeling Kathleen Turner’s deep husky voice after five hundred packs of cloves cigarettes. A couple of others said they had rich southern accents. One worried about no one understanding her. Another said her students told her she read too fast. She thought she sounded like Mickey Mouse. I’m not even going to venture an opinion about how I sound. I plugged in the mike and read two excerpts, but I have to admit, this isn’t as easy as it sounds. Sometimes a word just stumbles right into the next one. Here’s hoping I get it right before it’s time to send in our CD. LOL

No matter how we sound, this will be another opportunity to make more of a connection to each other. E-mails are so emotionless. Hearing a person’s voice will make them more human. I listened to Sascha’s broadcast and felt as if he was real and not some typed words on a sheet.

I’m ending this blog with one thought. I’m looking forward to January and hearing all you guys out there doing your thing.

Hi Mary, I'm so excited about this opportunity, for all of us at Midnight Seductions! Since my hubby and I write together under the pen name Adriana Kraft we think we'll have a lot of fun playing with using both voices to record scenes!

Adriana,

I'm trying to convince my writing partner Suzanne (my sister) to help me record an excerpt. She keeps telling me her voice doesn't have the right sound. Listening to my own voice, she shouldn't worry. LOL

I'm going to give it a try. I did record a couple of excerpts as practice. But reading through the entire piece takes some doing without a mistake. On each excerpt, I stumbled on a word so I'll just have to give it another try before January.

I think it will be fun to hear each other. It will probably make us all a little more real to others or somethhing like that. LOL

I have no idea how to do this so I may be calling you Mary-Suzanne. I'll be so excited when this promotional opportunity comes to fruition.

Just give me a yell, Kissa, but here's a little explanation of how I do the reccording. I looked in programs on the start button and found accessories. From there, I scrolled down and found Sound Recorder. Once you press Sound Recorder, your recording begins.(You'll need a mike unless your computer has one installed) When you finish, press stop and save with whatever name you want. You can then press onto what you've saved and again press burn to disc at the top of documents and you're ready to go.

If you need any more help, just e-mail me.
