DIFFERENT GENRE

I just finished another M/M story ( Partners) for my publisher Romance Divine. At first, I thought it might be hard to write M/M, but once I got into the story, the plot unfolded in my head and the characters came to life.

I’ve also tried a couple of M/F/M stories. One is Elevator Ride to Ecstasy and the other Double Your Pleasure. I find this type of genre a little more complicated to write. You have an extra character to give a personality and have to deal with any little quirks the threesome might bring to life in how they act toward one another.

The name of my next M/M story is Secrets, coming out before the end of the year. I’m hoping this one will go over as well as the others.

I usually write erotic contemporary romance, but I guess I’ve found a new niche in the writing field.

I thought I’d post the three covers of the books I mentioned above. Trying to promote the three is my main goal. LOL
You can find Partners M/M and Double Your Pleasure M/F/M @ www.romancedivine.com, http://allromanaceebooks.com and Amazon.com Kindle Books.
The last is Elevator Ride to Ecstasy M/F/M @
www.eXtasybooks.com.

My question for the day is about the genre that you write. Has anyone ventured away from their familiar genre and tried writing something altogether different? If so, did you find the new genre satisfying to write?

Cool covers, Mary Suzanne. I hear that M/M is supposed to be the hottest erotic sub-genre, next to maybe paranormals.

I've done some cross-genre writing, mostly horror and erotic horror. One challenge for me would be to write hard science fiction. I have a story in mind, but I have no idea what to do with it. I'll figure it out eventually.

Thanks so much, Lizzie. I picked the covers for Double Your Pleasure and Partners, but the other was picked by Martine at Extasy.

Since Sunday, Partners is on the front page of allromanceebooks site under What's hot. I haven't looked yet today, but I hope it stays there. That means more sales. LOL

If you have an idea formulating about hard science fiction, follow up on it. Look at how many things you write about already. You're loaded with talent.

I write in different genre's and I do sometimes find it hard. I think it depends on what.

There is one I have yet to try and it is historicals.....Might gie it a go sometime..

M/M is definitely hot right now and it's good for authors to dabble in a bit of everything in the romance industry. What is hot today may not be hot tomorrow. Versatility is a good thing in that respect.

Unfortunately, my versatility is not that great where genres are concerned. I seem to be stuck in contemporary. lol However, I do love changing up where point of view is concerned. I love first person male and female pov. Most romances are written in third subjective.

Great blog, Mary!!!

Savannah,

I tried a historical once, but it's still stored on my Word documents. Maybe one of these days I'll get it out and read it over again.

Tess,

Contemporary is fun to write. I usually write in the third person.

I didn't find M/M as hard as I thought it might be. Now, the M/F/M has to be a little more detailed, if you know what I mean. LOL

I looked on the Allromanceebooks site and noticed my M/M Partners is listed under What's Hot. It's been there since Sunday. Hopefully, it will stay there until I sell quite a few copies. WISHFUL THINKING.
