I can't decide whether I like anticipating something or not.
I love the butterflies and tingling when I think of something new coming up. The feeling of a new love calling, or a new book coming out, or a planned outing that means something special gets the blood flowing and can make a grin come out on even the most pessimistic person's face.
Anticipating a great date, an upcoming birth, or buying a house... anticipation is everywhere. It's what keeps our lives interesting and gives you something to look forward to!
However, my eldest son announced recently that he is getting married. Yikes. Talk about a rude wake-up call. I thought when he started college that I was getting old... now with the possibility of 'grandparented-ness' looming in the vague future, the excited youth hiding inside of me is facing mortality.
Yes, it happens to the best of us. With my youngest recently turning 4 yrs old, I didn't really consider myself in the 'possible grandparents' age group. Guess it's time to wake up, huh? I'm anticipating his wedding next year - with some trepidation.
So what are you antipating? Share! Share!
