I need to clone myself…
I know a lot of authors say that, but I really do need to clone myself. My vision is blurred from editing, I’m worn out from the change of life, I’m running ragged after two children, and we’re moving house in January, so we’ve begun the endless packing and sorting out.
I don’t remember a day when I didn’t put in an eighteen hour day for something or other, not since the beginning of the year. So, I’m wondering whatever happened to the idea of vacations…
You know, with all this going on, you’d think I’d be miserable, and ready to quit. But I’m not. Bring it on!
Still, that cloning machine would come in handy. Especially as we’ve just added a trip to North Dakota to the list of things to do, but as my Father In Law has recently returned from the hospital after a seven week stay, I think we should go an see him.
Perhaps, like many authors I’ve had the pleasure of knowing, I thrive on being busy, on the organized chaos that erupts around me on a daily basis.
I mean, where else would I be able to enjoy a debate over rpg systems, whilst discussing cover art, and reading through my eight year olds newest story, all the while answering the five year olds questions about the Justice League?
This is the life I want, the life I enjoy – all I’m saying is with a clone the laundry would be done on time instead of at midnight on a Sunday – I mean is that too much to ask for?
Okay, I’ll swap the cloning machine for a good bottle of River Bottom Red.
See, I really am easy to please.

I so know what you're saying, girl. I am so sleep deprived. I try to prioritize but sometimes things just don't work out. Here's to a great vacation soon for all of us!

You sound like me...I could really use another me..this way more could be done...I'm barely sleeping these days...It is just nuts
LOL! It must be contagious. On nights when I actually get to bed at a decent time, I wake up in the middle of the night with plot ideas.
The life of a writer. I wouldn't trade it.
I agree. I could used a couple of myself around. Especially when painting the house, doing yard work and trying to clean. There is always too much to do and not enough time to do it.
Just think, I could have one do a real bread and butter job and then I could explore my hidden talents.
Had I a clone or two, this world would perish.
Oh wait, you're talking about working as an author, etc...
Yeah, a clone would be good.
