Isn't this the most amazing picture? I love myths and legends. Heck, I live in Georgia and wanted to run out and look for Big-foot along with ten thousand other rednecks. I love finding old legends and weaving them into my stories.
I'm working on a manuscript right now with a cowgirl theme and I've found a wonderful old piece of history that most don't know to use as the foundation of the story.
Today my mind wanders to mermaids...
I am a creature of Fey,
Prepare to give your soul away.
My spell is passion and it is art,
My song can blind a human heart.
And if you chance to know my face,
My hold shall be your last embrace.
How that poem inspires and enthralls me. When my muse decides our other work is complete I may have to read this again- and write a novel that includes a sexy, erotic mermaid! What kind of things inspire you? And please tell me about your favorite legend...
