When a family crisis comes along, we draw upon love to get us through the tough times. Love is something we all want, crave or in some cases die for. As a writer, my goal is to mine the depths of emotion, so the reader can experience it.
Readers know what they like and the statistics show, romance is over 50% of the market of mass market paperback book sales. People want something positive and romance gives them the chance to be the captain of a ship with the sexy hero and a partner, or a woman in the Scottish Highlands where she faces the chief of a rival clan. Tales of adventure, passion and love. Books that make you sigh and leave you with a good feeling after you close the back cover.
Men are quickly catching on. They make up 10% of romance readers now and I think this is fabulous. If any of you are reading this blog, pick up my titles for a quick, hot read.
I’m proud to write in the romance genre. We write about relationships and the celebration of love.
Until next month, take care and share the love!
