Porno Movies - Do you or Don't you?

Porn... sexy movies... porno... warm ups... evil incarnate... or giggle fits?

Everyone has an opinion on movies featuring sex. Yes, I'm talking about those bad movies with the ever-recognizable grinding music, no plot, and SEX.

Do you watch it? Is it your dirty little secret? Or is it something that only those with dirty minds and no imagination watch? Whatever your opinion, most people have one.

Well, as I was flipping through channels the other night, and ran across something on late night tv (the kind rated MA on the movie channels), I found an amusing new use for porno movies--LAUGHTER!

Let me set the scene for you:

With four children (three under 10 yrs old), romantic times are sometimes hard to find, unless it's after midnight or even later. However, one night a few days ago, the stars aligned, the planets were rotating the right way--whatever. The kids were asleep and it was time to make my move!

But while everything looked rosy for a romantic interlude, I just wasn't quite in the mood, so to speak. So I flipped through the channels on the TV and lo and behold, I found PORNO! So my finger hesitated over the remote, and I saw this muscular, naked man take a slim, beautiful woman in his arms and ravage her...

OK, this might work. My interest piqued, I watched some more. So the acting was horrible, and the lines even worse. The music was annoying and the kids were asleep. So I turned the sound all the way down. After all, I wasn't watching it for the acting.

I nudged my husband to get his attention, and he looked at the tv, silently putting his book down as we watched and snuggled a little. Then I opened my mouth, and started putting my own dialogue into the character's mouths. Funny dialogue (the ever-present curse of being a writer, I suppose) and corny phrases started popping out of these slim, impossibly acrobatic people as they 'did the dirty deed' and my husband and I, rather than getting more in the mood for love, were laughing so hard we could hardly breathe!

Never underestimate the power of laughter. Did I eventually take advantage of the poor man beside me? The one laughing hysterically at the words I was putting into the actors mouths? Of course, I'm not an idiot! How often do I get the kids all to sleep early enough that I'm not falling asleep myself?

You know the old saying: Laughter is the best medicine. Well, sometimes, it can be a wonderfully fun and powerful aphrodesiac as well.

Yes, I'm strange. I'm an author. It's expected.

Have a great day, and the next time you run across one of those 'forbidden movies' late at night, turn the sound all the way down and try adding your own dialogue--you'll be amazed at how much fun you can have!

Oh Cassidy...I love this. What a great blog. And I agree about the laughter part. I haven't watched porn in a while, but I do admit I have and will again watch it with the right man. It can be pretty hot. Why not? Right now I'm between studs so I think I'll just pass..lol..Hope your night was wonderful...

LOL! What a great story! I think you should write a book on mature love and put this story in it.
I fell asleep with the TV on and woke up to a couple "getting it on"
I agree, it's not the acting that got them the job. My hubby works nights, so getting all hot and bothered in the middle of the night doesn't do me much good. Wish I had thought to give them my own dialogue. Thanks for the laugh.

There's tv show here in the UK called 'Badly-Dubbed Porn'. It takes cheesy pornos and dubs it over with the most hilarious lines. I love it.

Great post! Yup, my hubby and I have watched them together. With the sound turned down, too! Not because we have kids, but because the dialogue and other "sounds" are just too funny! I mean, really!

*hugs*

OH no! Four is plenty for me, thank you very much. We finally figured out what was causing it (and no, it wasn't late-night porn), and... shall we say... *snipped* it in the bud!

I'll look forward to my grandchildren instead. As my eldest is 18, that might be sooner rather than later (ACK!).

Thanks everyone for the comments, I had fun with this post, even though I might have shared a little too much about my sex life. LOL.

I had no idea they had a show like that in the UK! Maybe I should go over there and show them how it's done, eh?

I am not a visual person, so I don't watch porn. I do, however, love to make fun of bad movies.

Maybe I ought to try making fun of some porn one of these days! :)

Kudos for a dee-lightful blog. I loved it and I can't just imagine some of the outlandish dialog you created.

Two thumbs up, Dee

I'm an occasional porn watcher. Sometimes I feel like I've lost my mojo, with days spent running after kids during the day and late night school work. I'll put on a non dialogue flick and grab the DH.

I used to catch the cheezy flicks that are on in the middle of the night, but it is some funny stuff.

Funny post Cassidy.

Hugs, Danette

great blog, Cassidy! Hmmm... both halves of Adriana think people should choose their sexy flicks very carefully. There's some great stuff out there, created by women for women, with decent acting and even fun romantic storylines ~ something for both partners, easy to enjoy and play along with...

'nuff said! Maybe I'll blog about it next month!

Thanks for the comments everyone! I find the weirdest things humorous, and I swear it just adds to the giggles.

I deal with some very dark situations in my books, but you'll never find one of them without humor as well. It's how I deal with the bad things in life (it's easier than burying all the bodies), and it sure makes the good things even better.

Cheers!
